Machairado
school

The Machairado School was founded in 1979 and initially operated as an annex of the 2nd High School of Zakynthos. From 1981 until today it has been operating as an autonomous school unit.
The School at the beginning of its operation was housed in the Community Store of the old community of Machairado. Since 1992 it has been housed in its own building, just a few meters away from the church of Saints Timotheus and Mavras. It is built in a friendly and safe environment for children, overgrown with olive trees, in direct contact with nature, but also in close contact with the life and activities of the local community.
